Shrinkage control

Note: Machine alignment plays a large part in determining the amount of shrinkage; check alignment of machine.
1. Use freest possible stock.
2. Have felts as tight as possible, and ensure that all felt stretchers are free.
3. Provide slackest possible draws between dryer sections to get increased CD stretch.
4. Keep dryer temperatures as low as possible.
5. Use expander type rolls in dryer section at point where sheet is approximately 40% moisture to reduce CD shrinkage.
