Pitch spots, wire

1. Clean forming fabrics.
— low-pressure steam can be used to blow pitch spots out of metal wires.
— for plastic wires, pressure must be less than 3.5 kg/cm2 and temperature below 150 F .
2. High-pressure showers are usually effective on pitch.
3. Chemical treatment of the wire can reduce the tendency for pitch accumulation.
4. Clean wire with organic solvent.
